  • A willingness and ability to follow agency policies and guidelines
  • Dependable, nurturing, and possess good communications abilities
  • Flexible schedule

Foster Parent Responsibilities

Responsibility
  • Provide direct supervision in a safe structured home environment
  • Implement treatment strategies
  • Participate in client treatment team meetings
  • Use positive reinforcements
  • Attend a 40 hour MAPP training to prepare you for foster parenting
  • Provide transportation for the child to appointment and family visits
  • Maintain positive working relationships with the client’s natural family and staff
  • Work with schools, social workers, medical personnel and other childcare professionals
  • Guide a child’s development in all areas
